Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport, University of Toronto

Located at the University of Toronto’s downtown campus, this state of the art athletics and research building houses a below grade basketball stadium designed to NCAA exacting standards; workout and gym spaces; and research facilities.

Overlooking U of T’s Varsity Stadium, the Goldring Centre was positioned over an existing parking lot which contained numerous existing underground services that had to be re-routed.   Stormwater Management is handled by an internal tank, where roof and surface flows are conveyed and controlled.  The project incorporates a Green Roof and Grey Water Collection System; as well as an end-of-pipe oil/grit separator which provides treatment of stormwater before entering the municipal sewer.

Typical to most projects in the City’s downtown core, space is constrained and careful coordination with all disciplines — mechanical, architectural, structural, landscape and civil — was required to ensure the seamless operation of this magnificent structure.

Iconic projects such as the Goldring Centre is what we excel at!
