EMC Group delivered civil engineering and site servicing design for the Sports Complex at 299 Racco Parkway in Vaughan. Our scope of work included site grading, storm sewer and sanitary sewer design, watermain connections, parking lot layout, and access road design. We coordinated with the City of Vaughan to secure all engineering approvals required for this major community recreation facility.

Sports complex sites present significant engineering challenges, including the need to manage large impervious areas from parking lots and building footprints, while also grading adjacent playing fields and outdoor recreation surfaces to precise tolerances. Our team designed a storm drainage system that efficiently collects runoff from across the site and conveys it to the municipal system, incorporating stormwater management controls to meet the City of Vaughan and TRCA requirements for quality and quantity.

The grading design addressed the transition between building pad elevations, parking lot grades, and the surrounding playing fields, ensuring positive drainage throughout and barrier-free access to all facility entrances. We prepared the complete site servicing package, including grading plans, servicing drawings, and the functional servicing report required for site plan approval. Our team worked closely with the City of Vaughan engineering department and the project design team to deliver a sports complex that serves the community with safe, reliable, and well-drained infrastructure.
