Mattamy Sportspark

Mattamy Sportspark is the Phase 2 expansion of the Churchill Meadows Community Centre, delivering a major new outdoor recreation destination for the City of Mississauga. EMC Group provided the full civil engineering design, including site grading, stormwater management, park servicing, and drainage for multiple artificial turf and natural grass sports fields, spectator areas, pedestrian pathways, and a large surface parking facility.

Integrated site engineering for a premier sports park

The park design required careful grading across the entire site to maintain level, playable field surfaces while ensuring positive drainage to the stormwater collection system. EMC coordinated surface grades across the turf fields, natural grass pitches, pathways, and parking areas so that every program element drains effectively without compromising usability for athletes, spectators, or day-to-day park operations.

Stormwater management was a central element of the design. EMC engineered a drainage strategy that addresses both quantity and quality control requirements, incorporating a naturalized stormwater management pond to attenuate post-development peak flows and treat surface runoff before discharge. The parking lot and access road grading were fully integrated with the overall drainage plan.

Mattamy Sportspark reflects EMC Group's ability to deliver recreation infrastructure that serves communities for the long term. From initial grading design through construction, the civil engineering program was closely coordinated with the City of Mississauga and the project team to ensure the park functions as a seamless extension of the existing Churchill Meadows community facilities.
