Subdivision Engineering
The DiTomaso Residential Subdivision is located in the Woodbridge area of the City of Vaughan, within the Islington Avenue and Pine Valley Drive corridor. Developed by DiTomaso Holdings, the project required detailed civil engineering design to transform the lands into a fully serviced residential community. EMC Group was retained to provide engineering services from preliminary design through construction administration and municipal assumption.
Engineering scope included site grading and earthwork balancing, design of the storm sewer collection system and stormwater management facility, sanitary sewer design with connections to the municipal trunk system, watermain design including looping and hydrant placement, and road design with curb, gutter, and sidewalk details. Lot grading certificates were prepared for each building lot to ensure positive drainage and compliance with the approved grading plan. Erosion and sediment control measures were designed for all phases of construction in accordance with municipal and conservation authority requirements.
EMC Group coordinated with the City of Vaughan, the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, and York Region to obtain all required engineering approvals. The project demonstrates EMC's experience delivering full-scope subdivision engineering services for private developers in the York Region market.
