EMC Group Limited is seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer or Project Engineer to lead components of land-development and municipal-infrastructure assignments. This position is suited to an engineer who can combine sound technical judgment with organized project delivery, effective client communication and productive coordination with municipalities and approval agencies.
What you’ll do
- Lead the preparation of grading, site-servicing and stormwater-management designs.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary drawing packages and technical submissions.
- Prepare or review calculations, reports, specifications and engineering correspondence.
- Guide designers and technologists and review work for technical quality and completeness.
- Coordinate with clients, municipalities, conservation authorities, utilities, architects and other consultants.
- Respond to review comments and help move applications efficiently through approval.
- Support tendering, construction administration and resolution of field issues.
- Monitor assigned scope, schedules and project deliverables.
What you bring
- A degree in civil engineering from a recognized institution.
- Relevant professional experience in land development or municipal infrastructure.
- Professional Engineer designation in Ontario, or active progress toward registration with Professional Engineers Ontario.
- Demonstrated experience with grading, municipal servicing and stormwater-management design.
- Familiarity with Ontario municipal and agency approval processes.
- Ability to coordinate several assignments while maintaining clear records and communication.
- Strong technical writing, problem-solving and client-service skills.
Additional assets
- Experience managing smaller projects or leading major components of larger assignments.
- Civil 3D design or review experience.
- Construction administration or field-review experience.
- Experience working with GTA and Simcoe County municipalities.
