Contract Administrator / Construction Field Reviewer

EMC Group Limited is seeking a Contract Administrator or Construction Field Reviewer to support civil-infrastructure construction on residential, commercial and industrial development projects. You will act as an important link between the design team, contractors, clients and approving authorities, helping ensure that work is documented and completed in general accordance with project requirements.

What you’ll do

  • Conduct regular site visits and document construction progress.
  • Prepare clear field reports supported by measurements and photographs.
  • Review contractor requests for information and coordinate responses with the design team.
  • Track deficiencies, corrective work and outstanding project items.
  • Review quantities and assist with progress-payment certification.
  • Attend construction meetings and prepare or review meeting records.
  • Maintain organized correspondence, inspection records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with substantial-performance, assumption and project-closeout activities.
  • Escalate design conflicts, safety concerns and unexpected site conditions appropriately.

What you bring

  • A diploma or degree in civil engineering technology, civil engineering, construction management or a related discipline.
  • Relevant civil-construction or contract-administration experience.
  • Familiarity with municipal servicing, roadworks, grading and stormwater infrastructure.
  • Strong written communication and disciplined record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to interpret civil drawings, specifications and contract documents.
  • Professional judgment and confidence communicating with contractors, clients and municipal representatives.
  • A valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation for site travel.
  • Ability to safely perform field reviews in active construction environments.

Additional assets

  • C.Tech., C.E.T., EIT or P.Eng. designation or eligibility.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications and Drawings.
  • Experience with progress-payment review, deficiency management and municipal assumption processes.
  • Applicable construction-safety training.
