EMC Group Limited is seeking a Civil Engineering Designer or Technologist to support land-development and municipal-infrastructure projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area and Ontario. Working with experienced engineers and project managers, you will prepare coordinated civil designs that move projects from initial concept through municipal approval and construction.
What you’ll do
- Prepare grading, site-servicing, storm drainage and erosion-control designs.
- Develop plans, profiles, details and quantity information using Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Assist with stormwater-management calculations and supporting technical documentation.
- Review survey, architectural, landscape and utility information for design coordination.
- Address municipal and agency comments under the direction of a project engineer.
- Help maintain drawing quality, design standards and organized project records.
- Support construction-phase revisions and respond to field information when required.
What you bring
- A diploma or degree in civil engineering technology, civil engineering or a related discipline.
- Two or more years of relevant design experience, or a strong entry-level portfolio demonstrating applicable skills.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Understanding of grading, municipal servicing and stormwater-management fundamentals.
- Careful attention to detail and the ability to produce clear, coordinated drawings.
- Strong written communication, organization and time-management skills.
Additional assets
- Experience with Ontario municipal design criteria and submission requirements.
- Experience preparing pipe networks, surfaces, profiles and corridors in Civil 3D.
- Eligibility for C.Tech., C.E.T., EIT or another applicable professional designation.
